Pet Policies

Many in our community of us enjoy having one or multiple dogs as a pet.

Having a pet involves anticipating certain responsibilities such as care and feeding, but it also involves a number of other issues as well.

  • Please pick up the "mess" when walking your dog. This includes the pine straw area as well as the grassy sections. It is not only unsanitary but also disrespectful to your neighbors to leave your pet's mess behind. Failure to clean up your pet’s mess will result in a $100 for each violation.

  • With warm weather, we have many young children running around the property, so please be considerate.

  • Fulton County does enforce a leash law that requires all dogs to be walked on a leash that is no longer than six feet. Any dog that is not leashed or tethered is impounded.

  • Any home that has six or more animals must have a Kennel License. If not, all animals can be confiscated by the City of Alpharetta.

  • Based on complaints from neighbors the city of Alpharetta can issue a fine for barking dogs. This is also a violation of the nuisance clause included in the Bellsmith Regency Covenants.

  • The Bellsmith Regency HOA does have a fining policy in place, so there is a risk of a $25.00 fine for each violation. Pets are the number one complaint in our community.

  • Excessive dog barking is a violation of the nuisance clause in the Bellsmith Regency Covenants, and the City of Alpharetta can issue a fine. Residents can report dog barking by calling:

  • Alpharetta Police non-emergency number: 678-297-6300
